Our Sisters in Sudan, Between the Hammer of Betrayal and the Anvil of Silence

Our sisters in Islam and in humanity,

Pure women, shining like stars, departing from life,

Nurturing mothers, becoming bereaved,

Young women in the prime of youth, their innocence snatched away,

Their dreams crushed under the heels of treachery.

The hand of corruption has reached the sanctities,

Exposing what God commanded to be concealed.

The sanctity of veiled women has been violated, and their blood shed,

Before the eyes of a world that has decided to open one eye and close the other—

An eye that sharpens its gaze to hunt down the missteps of Muslims, so when they seek to protect their daughters, they are labeled terrorists,

And an eye that blinds its sight and insight when it comes to the violation of Muslims' honor.

▪️ My Sudanese sister, Suham Hassan:

You were a beacon in the parliament,

Now you stand as a testimony to the horror of injustice and the vileness of the hand of betrayal.

You were a voice for justice, now you are a cry that shakes consciences.

▪️ My Sudanese sister, Dr. Hanadi Dawood:

You chose death with honor, confronting the beasts with the weapon of faith.

You are a role model for chaste women, entering a special gate of martyrdom.

▪️ My Sudanese sister, Halima:

You watched your blossoms being plucked before your eyes,

And your heart broke a thousand times.

There is no cure for your brokenness except a Compassionate Lord and the gardens of eternity.

▪️ My Sudanese sister, Fatima:

You gathered the fragments of your flesh and blood,

May God gather the fragments of your patience and place them in the balance of your good deeds.

O Mu'tasim!*

Where are the men, and where is their fervor in defending their sisters?

Where are the Muslims, and where is their zeal for protecting honor?

Support your sisters with prayers in the depths of the night,

Support them by speaking of them on every platform,

Support them by spreading their tragedy everywhere,

Support them with every form of material and moral support.

Let each do what they can, for by God, nothing is beyond His power:

Prayer is a weapon, the word is truth, wealth is redemption, and spreading awareness is jihad.

O God, we ask You by Your Most Beautiful Names to unleash Your wrath upon those who have wronged them.

O God, preserve their blood, conceal their vulnerabilities, and calm their fears.
